a light comes calling

tunnels built underground
walls so thick the only noise around
is the cry my voice utters aloud

darkness stretching far and wide
dexterous, denying light for miles
fighting the urge, playing with fire

this cavernous space by myself is a maze
insanity beckons me to stay
how long have i been in this place?

suddenly, a light comes calling
one small burst lit up beautifully
what otherwise i could not see

i felt against walls with my hands
my confidence then took a stand
though none of this according to plan

in that moment all i needed
was suddenly delivered to me
karmic force comes in quiet handy

i had finally found my way
working through my former dismay
saying goodbye to yesterday

this moment’s all that’s guaranteed
so now is when i choose to heal
head in the clouds, daring to dream
